Wes Bentley has many favorite things at the moment, but there are some things that helped shape who he is today.
“I’m obsessed with (the book) Tao of Pooh,” the Yellowstone the actor, 46, reveals in the magazine’s latest issue Us Weeklyand. “I know this is a little cheesy, but (it) changed my life.”
Bentley explains this before taking on a philosophical reading Benjamin Hoffhe was a “temperamental kid” who had an “attitude.” However, after learning about Taoism through the lens of Winnie-the-Pooh, Bentley’s thinking changed.
“I read that book and in 15 minutes it changed my life,” he admits. “It opened my eyes and made me realize that sometimes things are out of my control and I don’t have to react.”
To this day, Bentley still likes to challenge his mind and learn new things. Right now, the actor is bingeing on Netflix documentary series Ancient Apocalypse. The series, which has two seasons available to watch, follows journalist Graham Hancock as he travels the world in search of evidence of mysterious, lost civilizations dating back to the last ice age.
“It’s kind of like, maybe we’re back on track, a prehistoric way in the last ice age,” he says. “How exciting is that?”
In addition to documentaries, Bentley also enjoys watching classic films such as Orson Welles‘ Touch of evil and The Shining. The actor teases that every time he watches a horror movie starring Jack Nicholson, he sees “something new.”

Bentley is also a big music fan and can’t get enough of Radiohead’s 2008 album. At Rainbows.
“I haven’t been able to stop listening to that album since it came out,” he says U.S. “I think it’s one of the most interesting albums of all time.” It’s also so expressive and it’s Radiohead, so it’s beautiful.”
Bentley played Jamie Dutton on the hit Paramount+ series Yellowstone as of 2018. Six years later, the show is now in its final season, with the final batch of episodes airing this month.
“It was really satisfying to play (someone who was) spineless, weak and hollow,” he says U.S while promoting the second part the fifth season of the series. “It was a big challenge and I was really happy to try to meet him – and I hope I did – but all that said, it’s a weight that will be nice to get off one day.”
