Who lives here: A young family of three
Location: Long Beach, California
Size: 97 Square foot (9 square meters)
Designer: Heather Knight-Willcock
Contractor: Brian Luu of Blue Construction
Much of the project included the relocation of the primary apartment. Knight-Willcock found a space for a basic bathroom, taking a small existing bathroom with a hall, part of the hallway and space from two small cabinets. (See the front plans before and after the data.) This double vanity room allowed, generous shower stand and additional storage.
“Heather called this project” MCMR “, which means modern revival of the Middle Ages,” says Luu. The style-wise, it meant that the design honor with the modern Berne Bernom home, while giving modern benefits and warm organic feeling.
This view from the bedroom shows the new door from the lining partially open on the left. “There’s a small hallway to the left of this door. Using the pocket door optimized space,” says Luu.
