Tori Spelling had an emotional reaction when her daughter Stella reached a big milestone.
“Allowed to drive 🚗,” Spelling, 51, wrote Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 10, alongside a photo of her 16-year-old daughter behind the wheel. “So proud of @stella_mcdermott08. She’s officially on the road with her driver’s license!”
Spelling talked about how proud she was of Stella for working “hard,” leading her to nail the written portion of the test. The Beverly Hills, 90210 The alum also shared that Stella has already “started driving lessons” and joked that her daughter will be her “personal Uber.”
All joking aside, Spelling also opened up about how much Stella has grown up over the years.
“Life moves pretty fast.” But the rewards are incredible all around,” Spelling mused. “I can still picture her in her car seat.” Me, I keep checking to see if it’s okay in the back. Now, my outlook is quite different literally, physically, mentally and emotionally. I couldn’t be more proud of this sweet 16. And, I’m not going to lie, I cried like a baby when she died.”
Spelling added that her tears were not from feeling sad, but from a moment of “pride.” As Stella finds out how to driveSpelling joked about her timeline to make sure her daughter had reliable transportation.
“Now, I officially have 6 months until he gets his license to figure out the car situation 😂,” she joked. “I love you Buggy 🐞.”
In addition to Stella, Spelling shares Liam, 17, Hattie, 13, Finn, 12, and Beau, 7, with her ex-husband Dean McDermott. The couple were married for 18 years before Spelling filed for divorce in March. While Spelling and McDermott have had plenty of ups and downs during their marriage, the actress recently revealed that she feels obligated to stay with McDermott for for the sake of his children.
“I’ve always thought that no matter how bad things are between my partner and I, it’s better to have their dad in the house than in another residence,” Spelling said on her Tuesday episode. Typo Podcast.. “I think it kept me in the relationship for too long. I feel like it ended up doing my kids a disservice.”
Although Spelling and McDermott eventually parted ways, she has no regrets about trying to make their relationship work over the years.
“I think he and I were both at a point where we might have drifted apart and divorced before Beau was born, but we worked on our relationships, stayed together, and I’ll never regret not leaving then,” she said. “I’m sure he wouldn’t either, because we wouldn’t have Beau.”
