Five artists competed to win Season 26 The Voicebut only one walked away with the win.
Sophronio Vasquez championship title in the final on Tuesday, December 10. After Jeremy Beloate, Danny Joseph and Cindy Sterlace were revealed as the bottom three, Vasquez was declared the winner with Shia comes in as runner-up. Both finalist finalists came from coaches Michael Buble’s team, marking their first win in the NBC series.
“My brother Filipino, you are the hope of many people. … It’s been such an amazing journey to be here with you,” Buble told Vasquez in front of the host Carson Daly declared him the winner.
The live episode also featured appearances from former coaches Kelly Clarkson and Dan + Shay as well Snoop Dogg and Sting, Riley Green and Ella LangleyTears for fears, Miles Smith and more.
The Voice has been wowing viewers with incredible talent from across the United States for years, crowning 25 winners since its premiere in 2011. Ahead of the two-night finale, the first part of which aired on Monday, December 9, the top five artists were announced, with each of the coaches — Reba McEntiresnoop, Gwen Stefani and Buble — seeing contestants from their team advance. Joseph represented Team Reb, Beloate competed on behalf of Team Snoop, and Sterlace kept Team Gwen’s hopes alive. Meanwhile, Team Buble had two members make it to the finals: Vasquez and Shie.
During the December 3 semi-final episode, viewers voted to keep Sofronio, Sydney, Jeremy and Shay in the competition. Danny then performed “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals in the Wildcard Instant Save round, defeating Team Snoop Christina EagleTeam Reba’s Adam Bohanan and team Gwen Jan Dan to go to the finals.
Season 26 marked the arrival of new coaches Snoop (53) and Buble (49). McEntire, 69, returned after making her coaching debut during Season 24 in 2023, while Stefani, 55, has appeared in a total of eight seasons since 2014.
The Voice quickly became a success after debuting on NBC in 2011, with Carson Daly as host and a group of successful coaches ready to find the next superstar. Stefani and McEntire both have one previous win under their belts, with Carter Rubin in season 19 in 2020 and Asher HaVon in season 25 in May, respectively. Rubin and HaVon each made history with their wins, as Rubin became the youngest male winner ever at age 15 and HaVon was the first openly LGBTQ contestant to be crowned the show’s champion.
While Season 26 just ended, fans already know that The Voice is in for some big changes during Season 27, which is set to premiere in February 2025. Buble is the only coach from this season to return for next season. Favorites of past viewers John Legend and Adam Levine it will come back though. Legend, 45, previously appeared in nine seasons from 2019 to 2024; Levin, 45, was the original judge who left the show in 2019 after 16 seasons. Kelsea Ballerini will round out the coaching staff as he makes his debut in the role.
