Wishing occasional breaks from the city, Hakon and Lilja began looking for a place they could escape. “It was important to us that we retire where we could adjourn the speed of urban life and urge in nature,” Hakon says. Reikjavik residents imagined something in the village where they could enjoy covered flies and colder months, peer from wide windows. “We could experience variables from our living space somewhere,” said Lilja.
