Thanks for stopping by for this week’s scouting style. My weekly post where I share random things that caught my attention or inspired me that I found online.
I realized something on Thursday. I take my laptop computer for granted, big time!!!! In 16 years of blogging, I’ve encountered many storm-related outages and power outages, but none like the one I experienced Friday when I was putting this post together.
For some reason I’m still not sure what it was, every link I clicked on when I went to my favorite websites and links in my email, I got error messages saying that the sites I was trying to go to were not safe. But they were all – they had https: in their URL that would show up in the search bar, but nothing else loaded – just white screens.
It was more than frustrating. Spent most of Friday trying to get to the problem, even with ATT – no internet issues, Apple – no computer settings causing it and Google going through all sorts of diagnostics and remedies – nothing changed. It was a mystery.
Until Saturday morning when everything was back to normal. I am relieved to be able to write this post as it is made up of links. :-). My best guess as to what is going on is that the sites I was opening were content sites and blogs. There may have been an ad network glitch that wasn’t reported. Have any of you had problems with websites not opening for you on Friday?
