SEC Reopens Reuters Investigation of Elon Musk’s Neuralink

(Reuters) – The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) this week reopened an investigation into Elon Musk’s brain startup Neuralink, according to a letter Musk shared on social media platform X on Thursday.

A Dec. 12 letter from Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spear, to outgoing SEC Chairman Gary Gensler also said the commission had issued a settlement request and that Musk was given 48 hours to accept the payment or face multiple charges.

Spiro wrote in the letter that he and Musk will not be intimidated by the SEC and that they have reserved their legal rights.

The SEC and Neuralink did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment outside regular business hours.
