American cricketer Saurabh Netrawalkar, who impressed the cricket world with his brilliance during the T20 World Cup 2024. Despite his outstanding performance, Saurabh remained unsold in the IPL 2024 auction. However, Netrawalkar maintained a positive outlook and not disappointed. The 33-year-old pacer acknowledged the tough competition and remained grateful to have made the final shortlist of the auction.
The left-arm pacer gained international recognition with the dismissal Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in T20 World Cup. His amazing super-over defense against Pakistan further strengthened his reputation. Netrawalkar shared his thoughts on not taking the IPL contract with TOI.
Saurabh Netrawalkar said, “Firstly, I am grateful to be shortlisted in the final IPL auction list. Yes, the kid in me certainly had hopes, but it was a group of high-quality players with so many top players who also failed to make the cut, so I completely understand.”

Netrawalkar admitted that he had high hopes during the auction process but accepted the reality gracefully. “The child in me must have had hopes,” he remarked. He also acknowledged the intense competition, saying: “It was a high quality pool of players with a lot of top players also missing.

Netrawalkar reflected on his performance during the T20 World Cup, he shared how the matches against elite teams boosted his confidence. He dismissed Indian stars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. “That made us believe we could perform at this level,” he said.
He also spoke fondly of reconnecting with Rohit Sharma and his teammates. Their appreciation for the American team’s efforts meant a lot to him. Netrawalkar remains focused on continuous improvement, using the World Cup experience as motivation.
