Home Alone launched a career Macaulay Culkin — and three decades later, fans are still quoting the iconic 1990s Christmas movie.
“Christmas is my time of year,” Culkin exclusively narrated Us Weekly in November 2019. “I get recognized 10 times more between November and January.” I have no idea why.”
The former child star, who played Kevin McAllister in the holiday flick, noted that the worst aspect of the holiday season is being “on TV every two seconds,” which he explained is “a beautiful curse/handsome blessing.”
Culkin isn’t the only actor from the ’90s film and its 1992 sequel. Home Alone 2: Lost in New Yorkit is recognized. Catherine O’Harawho plays Kevin’s mom, Kate McAllister, said Star in November 2015 that she is “grateful to be a part of someone’s Christmas ritual.”
Three years later, she said InStyle that “from November to December is the season for Home Alone!”
Many stars are still in touch. O’Hara introduced to Culkin Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony in December 2023. A year later, the actors who played Culkin’s on-screen siblings reunited without him. Devin Ratrai, Christian Minter, Michael Maronna, Angela Goethels and Jed Cohen posed with a a cardboard cutout of an absent actor at an event in New Jersey in December 2024.
