Random elegance with enough space for a chef

This retired couple bought a colonial style in Sterling, Massachusetts, on 4 acres to be closer to their growing family and grandchildren. As they loved classical architecture, they wanted to update the neutral interiors of the house. The great focus has redewed the kitchen and basic honey oak cabinets, angle two-stage peninsula, standard white devices and laminate. Husband, trained cook and former restaurant owner, wanted enough space for preparation and service. The wife was looking for a little color for closets and wanted an elegant look and feeling. They hired the designer Ruth Bergstrom for help.

Bergstrom replaced the subpointed two-stage peninsula with a spacious L-shaped peninsula, which adds desktop and sitting. Updated devices in a customized arrangement function, while polished marble views of curantors for swivels and back adds elegance and endurance. Gray lockers with subtle green and blue subtons, bring soft and soothing feeling.
