ODI return of Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada was named in South Africa’s 16-member squad for the ODI series against Pakistan. Rabada will mark his return to ODI cricket for the first time after the semi-finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

Its inclusion will strengthen South African bowling attack. Marco Jansen, Ottneil Baartman and Andile Phehlukwayo are already present in the bowling team. Rabada’s experience and pace are expected to provide a big boost to South Africa. This will be a stepping stone in South Africa’s preparations for next year’s ICC Champions Trophy.

The team also highlights the comeback Heinrich Klassen and David Miller. Both players will make the shots fiery. The talented Kwena Maphaka has earned his first ODI call-up after an outstanding performance at the Under-19 World Cup. The 18-year-old was named player of the tournament. He took 21 wickets at an average of 9.71. Maphaka’s selection underscores South Africa’s focus on nurturing young talent.
