Creating requires a cycle of life and death, and each is inextricably connected towards each other. Our earthenware design of delicate cycles, as well as our bodies – life is nothing without a little rhythm. In Salone de Mobile This year, while hundreds of thousands covered in Palazzos Milan, Portal from DecibelIn cooperation with Viz and SnailHe was stationed in the former Snay factory, lighting through forgotten beams and missing walls, where the nature has become a background. The new location for Alc’s debuted 2025. year, a special layer of meaning on the exhibition, the topics of the screening of 3D furniture from 15 feet in the middle of natural decay, with a full chair, with a full chair finished at the end of each day. As 10 chairs began to fill space, one by one, an intriguing dialogue between sculptural pieces and concrete switches was realized. Contains designs Karim Rashid, Noknox, Philippe Bietolz, Villo, Brett Akop, Andrew Zoiker, Deniz Aktaiand Charles BirdshawThe project associate, the portal makes us wonder what is next for the young brand.
Decibel partner with Viscom, Caracol and Industrial Designer Charles Birdhava for exhibition. “The portal is about the interruptions of the barrier – between the concept and creation, continents and associates,” said Adam Hecht, co-founder of Decibel. “With Viscom and Caracol, we show what is possible when designers are authorized by access technology.” Ten dynamic shapes, everything is printed in recycled material with thoughtful consideration of circular design, and each enjoyed a reflector light at its own podium, bathed in the gleaming Italian afternoon sun. Designing milk had the opportunity to talk to Hecht, at the deep view of what the portal thus transformed.
How does the circular design process fit into your philosophy in terms of production of additive and decibel construction as brand?
What we do is not facilitating only designs that are really important to get any attention, excitement and awareness, but you need something to act as a mission vehicle. Special components of design are really precious, but at a deeper level is a conversation around the infrastructure we are trying to enter. This is really where the moment will have the greatest impact when it comes to sustainability. There is infrastructure in terms of processing recycled materials, there is infrastructure in terms of design and reworking or downloading to be the best. For example, demand manages the improvement in the United States when it comes to material and research and development and developing a better bioplastical that should not break because it will be biodegraders in landfills. If no one is looking for bioplasts, they will agree little, we will not have so much access. So, we can build demand starting with the use of recycled waste flow from the flow of industrial waste and build smart systems that scalle.
The design of a good system is essential for maintaining lights on – who are key players in your system?
I would say that there are four partners – we have designers, helping demand, we have production partners, helping to create pieces, following recycling and recycling engineers, and then are the fourth levels of commercial customers. Whether these are other manufacturers, architects, designers, individuals, all obviously very important for that equation. It is very difficult to do any of it, so four groups just have to work very closely together for the whole system to function well.
Cooperation is so integral to understand the portal. How does the dynamics of Decibel shine at the exhibition?
We are a small team. We do not have investments and so everything we do must be strategic. We do that because we want it. This is not a standard job, it is something that is really meaningful to us. That’s why we managed to take a route of cooperation – working with designers who already have impressive portfolios, and they also work with younger designers because it helps everyone, we all become part of the same ecosystem. This is extremely valuable for us, it is really important to create a platform that supports designers and creates connections between designers and industry. This will eventually create more demand for sustainable products, so we cooperate with existing furniture designers and smaller brands that things are fresh and we also work with larger producers to create a greater impact.
By investing in partnership and cooperation, Decibel moves in the processing industry of the addition. Enabling access to designers, architects and manufacturers of circular design methods helps reduce the impact on the planet and at the end and lower line. Just as the name of the Mary sounds, so Decibel enhances sustainable practices around the world in its way.
