Pleasant spaces in a beautiful expansive yard

This dreamy property in coastal mountains south of San Francisco has already had a swimming pool, grassland, garden and mature trees, including great Japanese maple and many oaks. The owners of the houses wanted to be landscaped design, cohesive and colorful, so they hired landscape architect Lis Howard’s Bay Tree design. At the top of your list of wishes, it brought a lot of places where their four boys can play, aged 4 to 12 years.

The new design has pairs, seats, container gardens and more. “My clients like to entertain large groups, but (they) also wanted to gather pleasant spots,” says Howard. She created external rooms so guests could spread during the party. The new basic areas allow homeowners to grow fresh flowers for entertainment and herbs for gaming homemade pizza.
