Last week I got a question from the reader, which resulted in good discussion, so I thought I was going to share it here! They wrote:

“I think I know what to do with exercises, but my diet? I’m not sure where to start.”

Don’t worry, I got you! 💪

On a nerd fitness we see that most of our clients fall into one of three The starting point when it comes to nutrition:

🥦 Option 1: Changes based on habits (about 50% of people)

We choose one A small habit – like a breakfast protein or prepare for a meal – and laser focus on that change for a few weeks and follow how it goes.

Once it feels firmly, we add the following. Slow and stable, but incredibly effective.

Great for: People who want to build sustainable habits without flooding.

Of course, you may think of yourself, “That’s great, Matt, but What habits do I actually start?

It varies a person on the basis of which your current patterns of element are, your goals, etc., but Steve and I compiled a Recommended sequence here. Of course, just like a pirate code, you think less like rules and more like guidelines.

🍽 Option 2: Balanced plate method (about 25% of people)

This is Visual way of structure Your dishes, target at:

  • ¼ Protein plate
  • ½ vegetate or fruit plate
  • ¼ Carbohydrop carbon or starch
  • Healthy fat on top

It is flexible, so it is a little easier to sign in in different situations – whether you cook or eat. Probably the biggest challenge with this type of tracking is if you have a lot of big “one pot meal” where all ingredients cited together. Although we have Several tricks for thatAnd also.

Great for: People who want a structure, but do not want to follow the numbers.

🔢 Option 3: Follow the calorie and protein (about 25% of people)

This involves applying meals and targeting certain goals every day.

We usually suggest to start with the right protein and calories That it is simple.

Great for: People who love data, structure and choosing things in true.

Here’s a thing:

The best option is the one that fits You.

Some of our clients move through all three over time.

To the hell, I had clients start with the habits, and then I use the board method, and then decide to ask for a little, then return to the habits.

All these frames are just tools – so we want to choose the right to work (ie the one that suits you best!)

🧠 If you are not sure where to start, try Changes on the basis of habits First.

But if it feels too slow or too vague? Turning to another approach!
