In 2007, the Italian police arrested Salvatore Lo Piccolo.
That guy was the real boss of real life mafia mafia.
As they investigated his house, they encountered what they believed was their Official “10 commandments” of their crew.
In other words, “If you want to be a good mob, follow these 10 simple steps!”
These rules do not certainly cover any unique decision that every mafia must make every day, but they are rules that someone can learn, internalize and applied when they are found in a precarious situation and are not sure.
Mafia is not the only crew that is not a rule.
Ancient Samurai in Japan, he had a “Bushido” Aku “way of warriors.” 8 rules for their personal Code of Conduct:
By the way, Knights in medieval Europe had a “codex of chivalry”, which covered things like “protection of weak and poor, politeness and respect, courage and military skills”.
Makimus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator and his colleague soldiers always picked up with “strength and honor.”
In 300, Spartan soldiers knew that “returned home with the shield or to that.”
We have Rules for playing fitness nervousness And that!
I discover these rules because we may not be a mobster, knights or samurai …
But I bet I’d add some rules in your life could help you.
Life is complicated, and our brains are capable of claring us and great decisions.
However, when we have a rule in effect, it allows us to make a clear choice, not torture over it.
More importantly. Once we can make a rule, and then we don’t have to spend any damage or will of any decision later.
Here is a quick example:
Most successful popular diets are easy to list the rules that people follow List them to eat fewer calories.
I’m not saying that none of these of the above strategies is better or worse than any other. I bring this heuristics because many helped and that many many for many.
Any person can appear a number of aspiring rules that help them level their life.
I certainly have Rules “Fitness” I usually follow:
I know when I follow these rules, “Put the shudge”, I have a pretty good chance to stay, healthy and I feel good in myself.
I also have rules about the world interaction and be a good man:
These special rules may not work for you and that’s okay.
They are My rules.
Your rules must reflect yours Situation.
Here’s another fun hack: We may not like all the rules, but we are inclined Respect other people’s rules:
Our colleague offers you a donut and you say “Ohhhhh, I shouldn’t.” Maybe they’ll be back with “Come on, live a little” because they don’t want to be the only person who eats a donut …
But if you say “I have a rule not to eat donuts on weekdays”, then you have a difficult rule to follow, and your colleague will probably respect this.
Some can refrain from certain food or drinks for religious or personal reasons.
There is no reason you can’t have rules for any damn reason why you want!
What are your rules?
A good combination of rules for improving aspirative, professional and society is a good place to start. Or the hell, just one of each!
Hell, even one for everyone can be a good place to start.
These rules should be yours.
Here are some ideas to help you start:
Start writing a few aspirating rules and see how it feels.
I think that the rules are more specific and passing / omissions, it is more likely to follow them.
The rules that actually help you to decide in the long term in difficult situations. You know, those situations where your lizard brain says “Eat candy!” or “drink drinks” or “Stay up late and domesticity 7 hours!”
The rules can also be pre-emptiness, so you do not end in these situations in the first place.
We can use technology, application blocking software or recruiting our friends to help us remain Verimo on our rules.
Once you identify your rules and actually write them, follow how you work with them.
If you are considered to break your rules more often than not, it may be time to adjust the rules, do a little deep thinking or working with the therapist to start grasping why and What’s going on.
Remember, failure can be one hell of the teacher, and it is leaning in fear is a great chance to learn a lesson of life trying to teach us.
