Mark Jupiter He always knew that he was a creative, and he had embraced different forms of expression in youth. In the end, he felt a deep pull to design and build his first house, and care is in every element. “I felt it was something I have to do at least once in my life,” says Jupiter. “From raising the mass frame of the Gambrel truck to build the first platinum platinum houses, it became clear that the crossroads of the craft and the invention were where I was supposed to be.”
The road to success was not easy for Jupiter. After both parents transferred and experienced the collapse of their housing company during the financial crisis in 2008. year, Jupiter was at a loss. He deserves his wife by providing support and giving him the courage to invent. Her belief in his talents inspired him to return to the basics and starts making furniture, the world he knew well.

Jupiter’s father was a general contractor and learned tricks of trade from him, throwing and doing a little all of everything, from raising materials to a grinded tree. He all temporarily temporarily temporarily and so this born New Yorker decided to return to the city from getting up and start his own business. He found the perfect space in Brooklyn’s Neighborhood Dumbo, and in 2013. he opened his epic studio with a dozen pieces, which describes as a “functional jewelry of any room”.
The operation increased by a modest store in one man to a leading, state-of-the-art production plant and an exhibition space on the east coast. At the time when craft companies are constantly pushing from the high areas of the city, the workshop is more than the place where furniture is made – it is a community space to gather and inspire each other.
Jupiter likes to cooperate with people and nothing encourages him more than when it is inspired, especially team members. “Although my name is on the door, it is true that none of this happens without incredibly talented people with every day to work,” notes. “This crew brings inexorable skill, passion and precision on everything we create.”
Today Mark Jupiter joins Friday fiveRecording!
I don’t watch it makes – I just see what she brings home and every time I’m separated. Her ceramics has this quiet power of it. There is nothing more vague, righteous shape, texture and retaining. It reminds me that great work does not need to be announced – it just belongs. Its pieces inhabit our space and shape how I think about the presence and usefulness.
I love a clean rhythm of chopping wood. It is one of the few parts that remain directly to connect you directly – swing, crack, separated. The weight of the ax, the resistance of the grain, the pleasure of stacking something that you shaped your hands. The design is in its most primitive form.
My daughter writes and sings the honesty I can’t touch. Looking at the growing in your creator that reminds me of what it means to express something without converting. She proves that beauty doesn’t need Polish – he needs the truth. Her creativity brings me back to the core why I’m building something at all.
There are saints to watch someone who defeated their craft. Whether it is a painter, cook or sculptor, that zone they enter is electrically. One of the most powerful examples cooperated with an artist Craig Anthony Miller – Cam – who created the ordered mural for my new Dumbo Salon. He painted right into my shop and I had a privilege to watch him work every day. Decisions, energy, confidence – everything was the type of medication moving.
And then this is one – Me and goat, we share a moment. I have always had a deep love for goats … really, most of the domestic animals. Not in Liberation Type of way – right in grounded, in a way of soul level. Especially goats. You give them a small kiss, feed them a little grain, and the next moment you suddenly well folk heads when you least expect it. It’s their sincerity I love – no pretensions. Although I was born and raised in New York in New York, I always felt the right connection to the mountains and farm of the Earth of Upstate New York. There is something in that life that stays with you, even when you return to the city, covered in sawdust.
Mark Jupiter Dumbo Shovroom
When I first started the company, I wanted to repeat how people experienced custom furniture. It wasn’t enough just to have a great shop – I knew I need an exhibition that feels equally considered. That’s why I built them next to each other. Customers can enter and see ready-made pieces in a courier environment, and then pass through the door and watch those same pieces that are made by hand. It is an experience in full circle – one who honors the art and the art of the process behind it.
Kith’s Women’s Exclusive Leading Shop in Soho
The women’s leading store in SOHO is one of the latest chapters in current cooperation with KIT and its founder, Ronnie Feig. It all started with a tritical coffee table, a piece I designed and called for my daughter. From this individual gesture, there has been a multi-year-old, now a global partnership, bringing the essence of that same design in Spates Spates worldwide. It is a rare thing when a personal story becomes part of a larger cultural culture, and I am grateful to build that story together.
Jacqueline Sto
This is a Jacqueline table. His peaceful elegance and basic complexity are what I am most proud of. It is a shape that I adapted over time in tables, dining tables and adapted pieces in all shapes, sizes and ends. Like many of my design, he was appointed for someone I love and admire. This one is especially close to my heart. The name is named after my Sister Ami Jacqueline Jupiter – a great woman who, like the work itself, and elegant and beautifully complex.
Gabriel Credenza
Gabriel Credenza is a unique piece that was originally designed for the client inspired by the slow, hypnotic movement of its lava lamp. These encourage the curves and organic flow. It is just as meaningful. I called him after Gabriel Davis, a craftsman who brought it into life. Gabriel was part of my studies for almost eight years, and he is one of the announced furniture manufacturers I’ve ever known. The man is a genius with a table saw, and this piece also wears its precision and his spirit.
Cooperation with KIT and BOSE
I asked me Kith and Bose to re-examine the classic 901 speaker for his 60. Anniversary. Working with Ronnie Feig and Engineers on Bose – Individuals at the top of their creative games – was a privilege and a creative high point. Exchange of ideas, trust and common pursuit of excellence – It is a kind of cooperation I live for.
