After a frustrating but resilient draw against Fulham, Liverpool are reportedly in contact over a potential deal to sign the La Liga winger who could replace Mohamed Salah in the summer.
Down to 10 for most of the game against Fulham after a misplaced touch by Andrew Robertson and then a botched challenge on ex-Liverpool man Harry Wilson, the Reds rallied well from behind twice to earn a point against the impressive Cottagers. Most notably, it was Diogo Jota who returned from injury to do what the likes of Darwin Nunez failed to do by scoring a clinical equalizer deep into the second half.
However, as their title charge continues to roar in front of the Anfield crowd, concerns continue to grow over the futures of Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
As things stand, all three are set to leave as free agents at the end of the season and while reports have been positive about the relationship Van Dijk and Salah in recent weeks, both stars have yet to put pen to paper on extensions. Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, appears to be keeping his cards close to his chest.

Losing any of the three stars would be a disaster for those at Anfield, but at least they are preparing for the worst. According to Graeme Bailey for The Boot Room, Liverpool are in contact with intermediaries over a potential move to sign Barcelona star Rafinha. The Brazilian has been in the form of his career this season and has attracted interest from the Reds alongside Arsenal and Manchester City.
At the moment, Barcelona have reportedly dismissed any idea of selling their star even due to ongoing financial difficulties, but it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will change their mind if Salah leaves in the summer.
One of the best Premier League player of all time, replacing Salah will be mission impossible for Liverpool, either this summer or in a few years. An Egyptian can do it all with rare consistency. Finding another player capable of leading the way in goals and assists while avoiding injury seems like a fantasy for Michael Edwards and Liverpool. But Raphinharecently valued at 52 million poundscertainly ticks a few boxes on that front.
The former Leeds United star is enjoying a career season, scored 17 goals and assisted 10 more in just 23 games in all competitions. Any thought that Barcelona should sign Nick Williams from Athletic Bilbao to replace him is almost laughable these days. Instead, the ball is in Rafina’s court and if Liverpool come calling, it will be interesting to see if they shoot for the stars.
The analyst called it “unbelievable”. Ben MattinsonRafa’s recent rise has come since his days at Elland Road and the Premier League could yet get the chance to see his best form up close and personal.
