Lady A‘s Hilary Scott i can’t believe how talented her daughters are when it comes to music.
“All three of my girls have musical gifts,” Scott, 38, exclusively said. Us Weekly when celebrating his new holiday song “It’s hard to wait for Christmas” with her 11-year-old daughter Eisele Kaie. “It’s interesting how everyone expresses it differently.
While her twins Betsy and Emory may just be six yearsalready showing signs of musical ability.
“Emory will get melodies in her head, and she’ll ask me, ‘Can we go around the corner and record this melody moment?’ I want to record it so I can remember it,” Scott Us recalls. “Betsy likes to dance. … And they like very different sounding music.”
While Betsy loves everything from Descendants soundtrack it Stevie Nicks‘ “Edge of Seventeen,” Emory loves when her mom plays Imagine Dragons on the car ride to school.
As the oldest child, Eisele has had multiple opportunities to tour with Scott and Lady A over the years. That helped prepare her for the opportunity to perform “Hard to Wait for Christmas” at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville for Opry Country Christmas on Dec. 5.
“She’s in her musical theater era right now,” Scott said before the special performance. “We are listening Hamilton soundtrack several times a week. We’re going to see him in New York. It’s kind of an early Christmas present for you this year.”
This holiday season, Scott and Eisele hope to brighten the season with a special holiday song. Titled “Hard to Wait for Christmas,” the song aims to ignite Christmas cheer for all ages and recalls the many things that make the holiday season so special.

“We hope that this song just allows for moments — even if it’s just the 3 and a half minutes that they put this song on — where families can laugh and laugh and be playful together,” Scott said. “If I had a Christmas wish, this would be it.” When this song is played, I hope you’re rocking and having fun with whoever you’re with and that it’s playful in a season that can be very difficult at times.”
While Scott continues to embrace the positive response to the song, she remains grateful for the support her husband, Chris Tyrrell.
She also keeps faith in her family’s “compass” as they navigate the ups and downs of life throughout the year.
“We wake up Christmas morning and the first thing we do is read Luke 2 (scripture),” Scott said. “Of all the gifts we receive for our family, the greatest gift was the miracle that was born on Christmas Day.” We just always stop and make sure that’s where we start every day and really it’s in the spirit of love and being a light in the world and hoping that what we instill in our children is to go and be that light to others.”
