With Taylor Swift35th birthday in sight, Travis KelceFather thought of the perfect gift.
“Trying to buy Taylor a present is like trying to buy (my sons) Jason or Travis a present,” Ed Kelce he said during a Thursday, Dec. 12 appearance on 92.3 The Fan’s Baskin and Phelps radio show in Cleveland. “There is nothing they want that they don’t already have.” There is nothing they think they can get without already figuring out which model exactly. You can’t go that way.”
Ed and ex-wife Donna Kelce they share sons Jason, 37, and Travis, 35 who are both NFL stars. Jason played 14 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring earlier this year. Travis, meanwhile, is a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. He began dating Swift, 34, in the summer of 2023. She turns 35 on Friday, December 13.
“You have to dig in and come up with something special,” Ed explained Thursday. “The amount of money is meaningless. You’re not going to impress Taylor Swift with a $100,000 gift, but get her something that will tug at her heartstrings for $10 and she’ll be all gooey.”
He continued: “You have to find something that evokes an emotion.
Ed first met Swift before one of the Travis Chiefs games in September 2023, where he was blown away by her down-to-earth demeanor.
“Taylor walks in (Travis’ house) with the security guy, and I look at her and I say (to my girlfriend), ‘Oh my God, I know this kid, but I don’t know his name.’ Jesus, you know, like a real idiot,” Ed recalled during the January performance on a radio show from Cleveland. “And (my girlfriend) says, ‘You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.”

Ed and Swift have since linked up at many of Travis’ games, including the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl earlier this year.
“Every game, people crowd outside that suite trying to see Taylor, wanting to meet Taylor,” Ed later he said Los Angeles Times in January. “Taylor is very kind, but she can’t do everything.” And there are security guys who don’t want her to do anything. It’s their job and she’s smart enough to know, “I’m paying these guys to look after me. I should probably listen to them.’”
He added: “But if it was up to her, she’d be there with everyone who wants her.”
Swift also made connections with Don, Jason and his family, including a pregnant woman Kelly Kelce and their three daughters. Swift even hosted the entire Kelce family at the family Thanksgiving celebration in November.
