At the beginning of the pandemic, he was eager to share the place he loved. In the end, the couple made their way to Toda Santos and the same year and began the search for the home away from home.
After buying land plots in Todos Santos, Mexico, Greg Armas and Gabriela Minguez placed to design a triple house, two bathrooms. The obtained indoor / external space is 1,900 square meters – with almost half of that open air hallways and parties.

Before: Greg and Gabriel lived on the property in a converted delivery container during the design and structure process. More than anything, the decision made them experiment on the spot as they appeared to the design.
With the purchased country, the couple now faced a greater challenge: deciding what to build, despite that it was designed or built by the home earlier. - Having a kitchen of the cook was never a priority for a couple. “Todos Santos has too many amazing restaurants. Be there, we don’t stay at home and cook every meal,” Greg says. “The kitchen is not the heart of the house, so I speak. It is centrally located, but it doesn’t really think that you really mean that you really don’t think of it.” Not an island or an enclosed structure, the concept started as a tall table without anything under the universe for light, shadow and air that will pass through it.
- Functionally, the table has two open burners while the oven and refrigerator are hidden behind the curtain for an occasional labor intensive meal. The couple managed to do things when hosting. “We had the whole family there for the Christmas dinner,” Greg says.

Despite the layout of the table desk, it is surprisingly solid weighing about 150 kilograms. It is constructed from a cellular steel with four legs that are anchored in concrete floor for additional stability.

Since the exposed plumbing and gas lines are exposed, visitors are subordinated that this is not the most common charity environment. “At the floor level, there is a small type of facade that protects the valve and a hose base, so no one can get out of it or a dog can’t catch around,” says Greg. Fortunately, so far it was a stupid solution. “Having a whole liturgy to be very honest and transparent was part of that idea for us. The facade is defined by a series of metal doors of high 12 feet.

Greg and Gabriel used mainly steel, concrete and glass to design the house.
