Jis Hayden‘s Tyler Booth made a splash during his FBI: International debut — and according to the actor, the play is only the tip of the iceberg.
Warning: Spoilers below from FBI: The International Season 4 Episode 7.
“I don’t think there’s a member of the Flea team who isn’t tired of Booth,” Hayden, 37, exclusively said Us Weekly before his first episode of the CBS series that aired on Tuesday, December 10.
During Tuesday’s episode, Charleston FBI agent Tyler Booth (Hayden) enlisted the help of his former partner Wes Mitchell (Jesse Lee Sofer) — who is now the Flea team in Budapest’s top special agent — while trying to track down a fugitive on the FBI’s most wanted list.
Despite Tyler and Wes butt heads during the case, they got their man and, as a result, Tyler was allowed to stay with the Flea Team overseas until he decided on his next steps.
“I think Wes would really like his ex-partner to hold the line and do this the right way.” There will never be a better opportunity (to get back on track),” Hayden said U.S Wes’ hopes that Tyler and his career will move forward.
The actor teased that he’s “not sure Tyler is capable” of drawing lines.

“Then to make things a lot more difficult because the cases become a lot more intense and extreme and more personal for Wes, it opens the door for him to maybe not follow his friend as much,” Hayden explained, noting that the pressure on Wes could lead to Tyler mu ” gives advice he doesn’t necessarily need or may not benefit Wes’s good side. Angel Wes.”
When Wes taken over by Fly Team at the beginning of season 4, he made it clear that he is results oriented. Since then, he has blurred the lines on several occasions when it comes to following established protocols. Now that Tyler—whom Wes says he owes—is in town, those lines will become even less clear.
“You saw how Tyler reacted when it got personal for him. If it got that personal for Wes, how would he react?” Hayden asked, referring to Tyler’s daughter being dragged into his latest case. “How would he react to an old friend chirping in his ear, ‘You know, how are we going to do this? to do’.
Tyler and Wes previously hinted at a controversial past between them, which led to Tyler receiving a professional beating and Wes continues to climb FBI ladder. Their relationship, however deep, may not serve them well moving forward, according to Hayden.
“I think it’s getting extremely personal for the Flea team – I’m just not entirely sure (Tyler’s presence) is always going to be helpful,” he admitted. “I think it’s going to make it harder.”
Hayden revealed that “the bad guy from the previous story is coming back” to haunt the team, leading to “tough decisions” for Wes.

Those choices are made worse by having Tyler under his command. “I think you’re going to see him struggle even more with Tyler’s presence,” Hayden teased.
Despite all the upcoming tensions (fans can expect to see Hayden at least four episodes this season) Tyler will remain grounded in some capacity due to his daughter returning to the US for college
“I think that’s one of the big anchors of Tyler’s character,” he said U.S. “His relationship with his daughter, his love for his daughter, that’s his No. 1 (most) important thing in his life, being close to her (and) keeping her safe.”
The bad guy from Tuesday’s episode threatened to expose risque photos of Tyler’s daughter to get to him. Wes, however, had Tyler’s back and helped him avoid that traumatic scandal.
“See how he reacts when this guy goes after his daughter.” Then any semblance of respect for the rule of law goes out the window and you don’t really blame him entirely,” Hayden said, calling it a “redeeming factor in all of his bad behavior.”
While Tyler has now agreed to live abroad, Hayden said she has withdraw your daughter and her security will not disappear. “Tyler will join the Flea team, but his relationship with his daughter and his closeness with her will still be a factor,” he concluded.
