Dutch Studio Overturn Has it long enchanted the audience with their kinetic installations, catching transient moments from nature and translating them into uniform, sensory experiences in constructed environments. In Milan Design Sunday 2025The artists of Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nautu did it again Untie usRobotic installation created in cooperation with Audi that evokes the feeling of wind. Here visitors were not only passive observers – they became the wind, activating the job through the movement. The installation serves as a symbolic expression of Drift and Audi’s common belief: that true progress is started by moving, adaptability and human connection.
The last appearance of the Drift in Milan Design was 2006. years, which was in 2006. year returned almost two decades later increasingly exciting. Their reemegance next to Audi underlines the importance of movement as a central theme for both brands, is driven by superior technology and deep curiosity for the natural world. “Drift and Audi share a vision that innovation comes from moving people,” artists share. “In our very complex and demanding world, flexibility and adaptability are key to the frontruner in technological and simultaneous innovations focused on man. In (Audi), you are invited to become the force of the change.”
As visitors move through us, their presence activates the environment. Bulbs like a philament in soft, synchronized waves, imitating the natural movement of the grass field. The effect is so fluid and organic, it is easy to forget that robotics strengthen the entire experience. Tranquility and enchanting, the installation encourages reflection of how we shape the spaces around us, in return in the form of progress and improvement of the future. “The wind is the driving force of evolution and innovation in nature,” Drift is thinking. “No movement, no progress.”
