Don’t look back in anger

2024. The drawings are close, so I wanted to hit you with a final newsletter before chaos of 2025. It strikes.

That is the time of the year in which our brain will almost automatically look back at last year.

What’s right, what went wrong.

What we have achieved, what we have not been able to follow.

If you are something like me, it is easy to forgive on “what it went wrong” and feel all kinds of negative emotions around that thing.

Maybe we would look back with guilt on something we did or didn’t do. As I mentioned in the earlier newsletter I am someone who has The most “Catholic blame” Although I’m not religious.

I turned on through the story a few months back to still think. Allegedly, there are no words in Tibetan language that directly means “guilty”. The closest possible translation is something closer to “intelligent regressing”.

I’m not talking tibetan and I failed to find the Tibetan speaker to confirm that, but I think it’s a beautiful feeling that can help us as we move in 2025.

Guilt can be corrosive and unproductive. But as a day Pink expires in his book The power of regret, Looking back with the right kind Returns about things that happened or did not happen, they could actually be powerful and transformative for our future.

So, instead of trying to live a life “without distress” (contrary to intelligence) …

We can intelligently report regret how it went 2024.

So, in honor of the band an oasis association for the next year, Don’t look back in anger (Still, on the road, still a deadlock in full time).

Instead … Let’s look at the curious.

Look back with curiosity, not a judgment.

Take some time today and look back at the year curiosity rather than judgment.

Did you achieve the things they wanted to achieve? Great! I bet you learned something.

Has your life turned off the rails and spent most of the year just trying to stay on the water! Great! I bet you learned something! Did you start and stop in Kaliva on a goal multiple times? Great! I bet you learned something!

Write these things down. Notice the emotions you feel as you look back. Write what you learned and how it can inform future decisions or decisions you make.

You may have learned to hate how to run or is that Keto was an absolute failure or it becomes the first parent completely messed up your life or we could not stick to morning routines.

These are all the things that happened. Now we have to decide what emotions they apply to those things.

Remember, The past is not set in stoneAnd some of these failures or failures can be a very lesson you should learn for the future. They could be a catalyst for your next step forward.

Remember, not “I screwed up / failed, so I am lost cause …”

It’s “I fucked / failed and learned this lesson I could sign up for 2025.”
