Let’s talk about old houses and how to modernize and improve their unique beauty through thoughtful design, while they respect their history. I have included a list of resources for the courts for heritage and in the United States and Europe and listed some great resources in Europe due to finding unique cabinets, sinks and other special ancient items for your historical home.
This is the topic I am passionate about, especially given its 15 years of experience as interior designer in the United States and Germany. I currently enjoy the charm of historical architecture in my German city, but I also had a pleasure living and working in New England – I lived in Rhode Iceland, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I have spent the most time, though in Boston, one of the earliest settlements in the United States, which is known for its beautiful and historically rich architecture, which makes it one of the most picturesque cities in the country.
Here in Germany, happy enough to have a beautiful old age of the 1901th century. Years in Hanover the most beautiful districts called list. I chose this space for its architecture, square meter (230m2), access to the forest behind my house and a natural light that charges the morning in the night. And I wanted to live here, because I like unique wooden wooden rooms, some of the ceilings have compliant carvings, while we have a beautiful door, a large entrance and transmit windows, to call only a few unique features in my space. I also have two winter tickets, completely surrounded by a glass, for relaxing in the summer and for my 48 plants and succulents. Every night I rest while the sun sets over the roofs in the clay, throwing warm light through my dining room and scattering playful reflections from the disco ball on my cabinet. I love the charm of historical property and I hope to always be lucky enough to enjoy this way.
As for my design styles – so my furniture mixes various styles and periods, from Vintage, fladers in the elegant pieces of Scandinavian, with the gain on my American roots through chairs for cutters and eames. My home is a mixture of old and new, inside and out with lots of artistic and handmade facilities like ceramics – which I collect and love. Bathrooms and kitchen floors are given back to 80s, adding another layer in their history, but unfortunately, not an era I loved – so that these rooms are the least ones favorite in the house and in the lump needed renewal. However, this mixture of past and present, new and old, imperfect and very imperfect, creates a really special living space – at least in my eyes.
That’s why I thought I shared some of my favorite books at the moment, which perfectly records this connection of styles, but also teaches you how to embrace homes and their special charm, along with the navigation of the trail to make them modern without games.
The photos in this post are from the book. Selina has well allowed me to choose some of my favorite photos, which stood and photographed Rachel WhitingTo share with you here, I hope you enjoy them. Gorgen Book Selina celebrates what she calls “new nostalgic mood” in interiors, shows homes that shy with a mixture of vintage, inherited and modern pieces. It offers advice on how to achieve this timeless look, resulting in a home that is also personal and stylish.
I discovered this book by inspiring and even picked up a few new ideas, which allowed you to share with you because sometimes I really think I’ve seen and heard all good information in this book.
