Do you hold a list of places for the bucket you want to go or things you want to do one day?
You may have written a list on Notepad, saved as a note on your phone, or maybe just living in the back of your mind – quietly, hoping collecting “one day.”
For years, my own list is growing. Filled with charming small towns I only saw in local magazines, stage discs mentioned by friends and hidden gems I marked after I read about them. Life, with its comfortable routine and everyday requirements, has a way of retaining to the list on the length of the arm.
“One day” is always sure, easy distance. But if you are like me and yellow life and stylistic inspiration, I decided it was time to stop waiting, especially when it was a daily journey once in a while to explore the area I’ve never been up to date.
Studies have shown that short, novel experience – a day-to-day trip, unplanned hiking, explores the new street – amplify dopamine and reset the mood. You don’t need a big holiday. You need an interruption. The brain succeeds on the small doses of the new dose. The routine keeps you alive. The novels makes you feel alive and fills your brain with new ideas and inspiration.
I’ve always enjoyed the duration of time to do things in September as a way to “return to school feeling”. Learning that Today Excursions or Unplanned Excursions Good for your brain, Ed and I decided to start taking these short trips and share them here on the blog in the series I call, Places I’ve never been … so far.
This series is my commitment to turn those dreamers into real adventures in real life. It is finally exploiting the highway immensor, book a weekend trip and exploring places that lived on my “one-day” too long.
Going to new places speaks of the joy of discovery, whether it is a place across the country, around the world, or just an hour from my front door.
I will lead you with me, share sights, stories and all the small details that make a place special. My Hope Is That The Post Will Inspire You to Take Your Own Day Trip, An Unplanled Hike, An Unplaned Hike, Or Take The Time To Stroll Through A Neighborhood with Beautiful Homes To Turn One Of Your “Somedays” Into A “Today.”
Last Friday, Ed and I took a day to enjoy one of the best things to do in the fall. We went to the apple orchard to choose an apple.
We headed to Village orchard and windy hill cysters It is a two-hour drive from our home.
Apple dialing is not a whole new experience for us. Growing up, we both had the opportunity to choose apples, just climbing wood in our yard or on a friend’s farm.
In our adult years when we visited your younger daughter on fall while in college, we always headed Shelburn orchardsIn Vermont. This is when you eat apple penalty donuts became part of the Apple selection experience.
If you’ve ever had freshly made donuts with apple, they sprinkled with a cinnamon sugar, then you know how good they are.
To pick Apple, you schedule you for a specific time slot, so the orchard do not process. Arrival early provided the perfect opportunity to enjoy the first of several cider donuts before our turn is to go to the orchard.
Coming there earlier and gave us time to test the mester-twitter battens and to check the small apple room, spicy apple on apple and BBK sose and BBK sose.
We bought a few. Some to enjoy the house and more to share with family and friends.
When it was our time slot to move towards the orchard, we have a little disappointed the obvious quality of Apple. Most looked beaten and had spots.
We had two bags we’ve met and searched for the best apples. We did not come to the house that we realized that Vinap apples chose delicious !!!
Then we remembered how spoiled we were from “perfect” products, you can buy in the store. I put “perfect” into quotes because they are visually perfect. And often perfectly delicious.
The apple we chose may haven’t looked nice, but they were delicious. They were also ideal to turn into some domestic apple summary that I made the next day. You will find a recipe below.
The joy of day trip like this drop-down trip to apple orchard was an opportunity to detect. We planned lunch in Yorka, SC, which was the nearest city towards the orchard. But we haven’t chosen a restaurant in advance.
Just before you come for the orchard, we went for an attractive eye sign Garden Cafe.
Our immediate thought was that we had to check for lunch when we started on the way home.
We were glad to take the time to stop. It was a wonderful place for lunch – delicious food in the magical setting!
We enjoyed our Lunch Al Frequet in this life setting of the garden.
I also enjoyed browsing in a shop in a cafe and found something I’ve been looking for long. High tea infuser for my high travel cup.
The day was wonderful, time perfect and we returned home with new ideas in the head. What is always a good thing for me.
Will we ever go back to the orchard or cafe? Who knows? York, SC is about an hour and a half from our home, not far, but not close … and not on one of our typical travel rights.
It doesn’t really matter because our journey was part of a very pleasant diversion from the daily routine that is what itself is about.
Another thing hit both Ed and I. Driving through a rural southern caroline is a powerful reminder only as beautiful, but open space exists in many parts of this country … with miles and miles that we will never want to drive or take great roads or interstate.
So we enjoyed the day we planned a two-day trip to the place I wanted to go for years. I’ll share soon.
So how would it be? Do you have a bucket list you want to go or things you want to do one day? Why you shouldn’t do it now on the fall while the weather is nice and even get extra benefits to see beautiful autumn colors on the road.
At my time, I’m right as if I like it to reduce the time I should stand to look at the pot on the stove and I mix every few minutes until the apple becomes soft.
With a pressure stove, after turning it on, you can go and do something else until it does.
When you want a cider, that delicious taste and no preservatives or chemical ingredients – catch a dozen apple to easily make a group of homemade apple, which will be much better than the mass of JAR Applesauca, shopping at the supermarket.

Peel and cut apples into pieces. To make this step easier, use apple leaner / Coreler / glycer like the one I connected in the notes section of this receptive card.
Set 3-4 tablespoons of water to the bottom of the pot, and then add chopped apples.
Sprinkle in 2 tablespoons of cinnamon and 1 tablespoons of nutmeg above apples. Add more or less to match your taste.
Close and secure cover. Cook at high pressure for 10 minutes.
Let the opening naturally.
The white model of instant pot I have no longer made. There is a new model in white. White instant pot
