Dexter: Original Sin is a toss up U.S back to the twisted world of a fictional serial killer – but how do the cast of the prequel compare to the original Dexter honor?
Michael C. Hall originally played the lead role of Dexter from 2006 to 2013. Original Sin is set in 1991, with a focus on Dekter’s the transition from the student to the revenge series murderer and unsuspecting member of the Miami Metro Police.
Patrick Gibson assumes the role of doc Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Christian Slater and Alec Shimizu all playing characters from the OG Showtime series. meanwhile, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Patrick Dempsey and Reno Wilson round out the cast as new characters introduced in the Paramount+ series.
Hall previously returned to TV screens as Dexter in a spinoff titled New bloodwhich was published in 2021, but was completed only a year later. There are additional plans for another series of sequels, although it remains unclear how Hall will reprise his character as Dexter died – more than once.
“I’m kind of in there and I have a sense of what’s coming, but I’m really excited,” Hall said Entertainment Weekly August 2024 on the future of the franchise. “I’ve spent so much time with this character and it’s going to be great to come back and fill in all the imaginative gaps.”
Hall said he’s excited to have it more references to his character thanks Dexter: Resurrectionadding: “The scripts they executed are fantastic. I can’t wait, as a fan, to watch it, and as an actor to spend time watching actual footage of things that I kind of try to imagine for myself when I imagine what Dexter’s early days (were) like.”
He concluded, “Now I’m going to have this full-color version of his memories. I think it will help explain my experience of what’s to come in the other series, which I can only vaguely talk about at this point. It’s quite intoxicating. It’s so satisfying.”
