Budget break: Aussie architect builds a house on the beach with a milion of dollars for $ 270K

Matt Goodman performed on empty blocks along the great ocean in Victoria, in Australia, for years.

Architect and his wife, Corrie, Hail from Armlog on the east coast of Australia and often rested in the small nearby cities of the Creek and River, are drawn to their simple lifestyle and similarity on the shores of the coast on the coast. He performed a word through local companies, offering to help residents who lost their homes. “It was at the same time at the same time when I started my office and I didn’t have a lot of work – and I immediately had three pro bono jobs,” she remembers. “I was busy, but I still don’t make a lot of money.”

The silver lining was that Pro Bono works was a matte insight into the landscape. When free blocks appeared for sale, “I could use if the site was good or too hard or too expensive,” he says. “I had knowledge that I could put myself in my own building, so we would try to do it for a song.”

In 2018, they secured the “perfect” place on the hill overlooking the ocean, but their construction budget was only $ 400,000 ($ 250,000). “We knew the house needed to be compact and simple and economical,” says Matt, “but we also wanted it to be a beautiful space where there was an experience that was, surrounded by nature, it was really intense.”
