Apple’s iPhone 16 and 16 Pro lineup hit stores in September. Now you can walk into any retailer that sells iPhones—like an Apple Store, Best Buy, or your carrier—and buy from their available inventory. Use it Apple Store app to choose the model, storage and color you like and you can check the availability at the nearest physical Apple store. You’ll also find deals on all the major carriers, and we’ve highlighted those deals below as well.
It is not unheard of for popular color, model and storage capacity configurations to sell out of available stock and experience delays. That’s why we suggest keeping a few backup options in mind if you’re determined to get a new iPhone right away. Or be prepared to wait.
Now that the iPhone 16 series has been in stores for a few months, you can order the phone you want from almost all online retailers and carriers, as well as find it in the usual locations.
First, decide which iPhone model you want to buy — iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max. Then choose your preferred color and storage capacity and decide whether to trade in an older iPhone, which could set you back up to $650 from an Apple location.
Then select an optional carrier and AppleCare Plus coverage (or not) and click the blue Add to bag button. You can then add any accessories you want and finally enter your payment details to complete your purchase.
Prices vary depending on how much storage you buy, but here’s the range:

Some carriers are offering up to $1,000 for qualified trade-ins, which could get you an iPhone 16 Pro for free. One important thing to keep in mind is that most carrier exchange agreements require you to become a customer, and these often apply to the most expensive plan options.
Select retailers with trade-in programs can offer you gift cards for future purchases instead, so you don’t necessarily need to be locked into a contract to take advantage of the savings you can get from parting with your old device. Unfortunately, those offers may not provide as good a deal as traditional trade-in offers. We’ve got details on how much you can expect to get for trading in your phone at select retailers and carriers below.

We’ll continue to update the list below with the best iPhone 16 deals from all major US retailers and carriers.
You can buy the iPhone 16 series at the Apple Store, and if you have an older phone to trade in, you can get up to $650 in trade-in credit.
T-Mobile offers several different trade-in discounts depending on which service plan you have. Those on the Go5G Plus or Next plan can save up to $1,000 with an eligible trade-in, which gets you a basic iPhone 16, 16 Plus or 16 Pro for free. If you don’t want to upgrade to a Go5G Plus or Next plan, those on other qualifying plans can still save up to $1,000 with a trade-in and new line of service.
T-Mobile is also offering up to $800 off a new line and trade-in if you’re on a One, Magenta or Magenta Max plan, or one of its special discounted service plans for over 55s, military members and first responders. Those on other eligible Go5G plans will receive a $300 trade-in discount, and all other plans will receive a $200 trade-in credit.
T-Mobile also has a special offer for new customers who want to get more than one phone. If you port your existing number to T-Mobile and activate two new lines on a qualifying service plan, you’ll save $730 on your order of two iPhones.
AT&T is offering great deals on the iPhone 16 lineup. Those looking to trade in their old phone can save up to $1,000, which gets you an iPhone 16 or 16 Pro for free, and drops the price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max to less than $6 a month. You’ll get a full discount on all devices valued at $230 or more, while devices valued at $130 or more will still get $830 off, and even older devices valued at just $35 will still get you a credit of up to 350 dollars.
If you want to get your hands on the iPhone 16 Plus, you can save $534 when you buy it in installments, which brings the price down to $11 per month with no trade-in required. You can also get a 10th-gen iPad and/or Apple Watch SE for just $1 a month when bundled with an iPhone 16 purchase, though you’ll need to activate the new service line for these devices as well.
Xfinity Mobile doesn’t offer any direct discounts on the iPhone 16 series phones. However, you can save up to $830 on the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max with an eligible trade-in. But unlike some other carriers, Xfinity doesn’t offer enhanced credit, so the age and condition of your device will have a much bigger impact on its value. And if you want to switch from another carrier, Xfinity will give you up to $500 to pay off your current contract.
Verizon customers on the Unlimited Ultimate (or Unlimited Plus for the base iPhone 16) plan can get an iPhone 16, 16 Plus, or 16 Pro for free when they add a new line of service. This deal also saves you $1,020 on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, bringing the price down to just $5 per month.
If you don’t want to upgrade to Verizon’s most expensive service plans, customers on any Verizon miPlan can still save up to $1,000 with a new line and eligible trade-in, which still gets you the base 16, 16 Plus, or 16 Pro for free, and the 16 Pro Max for just under $6 a month. Discounts are applied as credits to accounts for a period of 36 months.
Best Buy doesn’t currently carry any unlocked iPhone 16 models, but you can score some serious savings by signing up with your carrier. If you buy your new iPhone through Best Buy with qualifying activation and trade-in through AT&T or Verizon, you can save up to $1,000 on the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max and up to $830 on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
Walmart is offering carrier deals that can help you save up to $930 on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus and up to $1,100 on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max with a trade-in when you activate a new line or upgrade to unlimited voice. You will receive savings through credit for 36 monthly bills. You will need to activate a new line or upgrade your line to an eligible plan if you are not already on one.
If you opt for one of the iPhone 16 series in Boost, you can save up to $1,000 without having to trade up. That gives you the iPhone 16, 16 Pro and 16 Plus for free and gives you a nice discount on the 16 Pro Max. To get the savings, Boost asks you to sign up for their unlimited access plan, which costs $65 a month.
If you prefer to pay for the phone outright, you won’t get an outright price discount, but you will get a free year of 5G service. You can also find Boost through their Amazon store, where you’ll find the same deals.
