Amazon Holiday Gift Guide by Sean Johnson and Andrew East

In an interview with U.SJohnson and East talked about this season’s holiday gift picks, what it’s been like to partner with Amazon, and how the retailer Same day delivery service helps with last-minute gifts and makes life easier for parents of three.

“There are so many logistical concerns with having children,” East said. “It’s nice that Amazon takes care of a lot of the logistics so parents don’t have to.” But I think we depend on same-day delivery for everyday essentials or last-minute gift items.”

In the campaign that promotes Amazon same day delivery service, the A couple of things podcast the hosts have seen what it’s like to be Amazon Flex Drivers driver for one day. The two raced against each other to fulfill same-day delivery orders in their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

“It was fun,” Johnson said. “It was humiliating. We have a newfound respect. But (it was) also cool to be able to walk into the facility, see the new hub and see how the whole flex drivers work and same-day delivery. We got to see everything, from how they pack all the things to how they get them in the carts, to how they put them in the cars. Then being able to deliver that to the kids, and then the gymnastics gym was really special.”

As parents of three little ones, Johnson said she notices she uses the same-day service “a lot more during the holidays,” when “life gets busier and more chaotic.” However, the couple also used it for last-minute emergencies, such as when they were organizing Friends Day and forgot to buy a big dish for their Sweet Potato Casserole.

“I’ve done so many things,” Johnson said. “And to be able to do same-day delivery for a casserole, which seems like a very specific item to run out and grab, was amazing.”
