Wanting a hint of Goa’s coastal vibes in the city of Gurugram, India, Spring Breeze Apartment would Avahsa reimagines urban living through a vacation-inspired lens. Perched high on the 20th floor of the Palm Springs Society building, the 3,600-square-foot home captures the essence of a serene getaway without leaving the city—its design a blend of Japandi and Boho styles.
For designers Aanchal Antal and Ranjan Prajapati, the challenge lay in marrying two seemingly opposite sensibilities. Japandi, with its minimalism and grounded palette, along with Boho’s textured charm, required a balance of natural materials and bespoke craftsmanship, along with a focus on family comfort. Instead of wall coverings, designers relied on furniture silhouettes, natural veneers and soft textiles to define spaces. Oak grains, woven reeds and boucle fabrics come together with the help of pastel tones and natural light that pours through the apartment’s spacious windows.
The color palette relies on iridescent beige, white and blush tones, layered with tactile warmth. Honey oak floors in the bedrooms contrast with smooth Botochino marble in the main living areas, while subtle variations in texture – linen curtains, rattan details and curved arches – add softness. The design follows Vaastu principles, ensuring spatial balance and energy flow that support the peaceful aesthetics of the home.
The entryway sets the tone with irregular arches that look sculpted rather than constructed. Decorative artwork accents the soft-toned hallway, while a statement Boho pendant lamp hangs above.
In the living and dining areas, tropical wallpaper and a plush white boucle sofa bring coastal charm. A pair of organically shaped coffee tables rest on a black and beige rug, which helps ground the space. Across the room, the dining nook’s white marble tabletop and cane oak console cabinet offer a mix of refinement and rusticity. Every surface has been chosen to enhance light – sheer curtains, soft wall textures and reflective marble tones create an interior that feels effortless and elegant all day long.
A custom strip anchors one corner of the space. Its fluted base and round table top suggest Japandi’s clean geometry, while the black veneer leather chair legs add depth and contrast.
In the master bedroom, a swing set next to the bed invites relaxation, while tropical wallpaper provides a playful, boho counterpoint to an otherwise muted palette. The adjoining bathroom, finished with monochromatic tiles and soft arches, continues with curves over corners, tone over contrast.
A child’s bedroom is all about creativity and playfulness. The soft olive green fabric on the upholstered bed is complemented by a grooved headboard, paired with custom wallpaper that feels whimsical yet sophisticated – designed to evolve with the child as they grow. Rounding out the space are hanging jungle gym bars that can be climbed while playing.
